Flynn Park, in University City, Missouri, is surrounded by Tudor- and brick-style homes and filled with large, leafy trees.
I explored several paved paths and sidewalks around Flynn Park, taking in different parts of the park and the neighborhood.
The walk was 1.2 miles long with 66 feet of elevation gain. You can make it shorter by just walking through the park.
First Park Walk
I parked on the south side of the park along Pershing Avenue. The park only has street parking.
Next, I walked east along Pershing Avenue toward Midvale Avenue on the sidewalk.
Then I headed north along Midvale Avenue on another sidewalk.

I passed by a park sign surrounded by plants and flowers.

Near the corner of Midvale and Kingsbury Boulevard, there is a colorful lion statue, which is the symbol of University City.
Next, I turned right onto Kingsbury Boulevard. I continued along the road, admiring the large homes nearby, including a white Tudor house. ( Pictured as the main blog photo.)
Out of the Park
I could have turned left into the park, but I decided to keep going on Kingsbury Boulevard.

Next, I turned left onto Wellesley Avenue. Across the street, there was a white Spanish-style house with a red tile roof.
Then I turned right onto Waterman Avenue and came to Flynn Park Elementary School, which borders the park.

A cute concrete dragon sits near the front walkway.

Then I make a left onto Rossi Avenue, passing back by the tennis courts near where I parked.
Back in the Park
I decide to walk along Pershing Avenue again, going west, but this time take a paved trail to the left of the tennis courts.

This leads into the park’s interior. I find a large playground with swings, climbing structures, and slides.

Then I came to a neighborhood garden.
I reached a trail near a picnic shelter and headed east on it. Then I took this trail north, back up to Kingsbury Boulevard, to retrace my steps.
This time, I take a diagonal trail back into the park to the playground once more, then back to Pershing Avenue.

Final Thoughts
This is a beautiful park and neighborhood to explore. I like the different paths to walk on through the park and the sidewalks along the streets. The trails are stroller-friendly.
You can spend as much or as little time exploring the area, and since it is a small area, you really can’t get lost.
