The hike is 0.9 miles on paved paths with 66 feet of elevation gain and can be divided into smaller loops using other sidewalks.

Start of the Walk

I parked in the lot closest to the park entrance and near Old Meramec Station Road.

Then, I walked up the cement path east of the lot and headed south. Next, I turned right onto an asphalt walkway heading west.

Amphitheater Area

The trail curves away from a parking lot, passing an amphitheater.

If you look northwest of the amphitheater, you will see a log cabin structure.

I approached the cabin but did not find any information about its history.

Then, I walked back toward the amphitheater and continued west.

Next, the trail came to a loop that went around ball fields. You can park on the southwest corner of this loop off St. Josephs Lane if you only want to do .3-mile loops.

I went to the left to navigate around the western part of the fields.

Then I saw people playing disc golf. A course extends into the woods to the northeast.

I came across a red and white bench dedicated to Lance Corporal Matthew Paul Pathenos, who died in 2003 from an improvised explosive in Iraq. He was a graduate of the nearby Parkway School District.

Next, I followed a curve to the back of the Manchester Aquatic Center, which features a large pool, a lazy river, and waterslides.

The trail goes south, and then I made a left turn near the basketball courts and passed by sand volleyball courts and tennis courts.

A sidewalk goes to the left for neighborhood walks. I walked a short way on this trail to check out the rock-filled waterfall.

I turned back to the main trail, then went right, crossing the park entrance road and returning to where I started.

Final Thoughts

This walk is stroller-friendly, although there are some ups and downs. It’s a nice walk if you’re in the shopping area near Manchester Road and Missouri Highway 141 and you want a break with the kids. The sculpture of kids is worth checking out.

I published a reel on Instagram of the walk.
