Dear Pre-School Class: Rope Making and Snow Ball Fights

When we got back from Hamburg my dad had more adventures for us around Munich including making my own rope and going into the mountains.

Our friends took us to farming museum in the Bavarian Alps. Here I learned about milling and saw how Bavarians lived in the past. Best of all I put together my own rope. I helped the rope maker spin the different pieces of twine to put it together. At the end we were able to take the rope home with us.

After that we went to this turquoise blue lake in the snowcapped mountains.  We went up to the top of a mountain above the lake. Here you could see into Austria and as we walked along the path we came across a large snowfield. I made snowballs and threw some at my dad. It was a lot of fun.

We ended our time here by going down to the nearby mountain lake skipping rocks and having snacks of sausages and pretzels, traditional German snack food, before heading back to Munich.

Regensburg’s 12th century stone bridge

We went to Regensburg and walked across a stone bridge over the Danube River that is over 800 years old. I walked around the remains of a Roman wall. Then we took a bus out to this memorial built like the Greek Pantheon with a 358 steps to the top. I climbed them all and we looked out across the river and hills when we made it to the top.

My dad’s said that we soon will be going to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, two more countries to explore.
