Catch a Brewers game in Milwaukee, then road-trip to iconic Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers!
We packed a Wisconsin getaway with Wisconsin Dells fun, a Brewers game, and a charming night in Door County.
Hotel Stay: Embassy Suites by Hilton Milwaukee Brookfield
We drove up from St. Louis and checked into the Embassy Suites by Hilton Milwaukee Brookfield. The hotel is big and has a pool, bar, evening snacks and drinks, plus a breakfast buffet.
We swam in the pool and enjoyed some snacks and drinks before heading to the game.
I picked this hotel since American Family Field, where the Brewers play, isn’t downtown, so we didn’t need to stay in the city center. It was an easy drive to the stadium, and we liked the free snacks and breakfast.

Brewers Game Time
Next, we drove to the stadium. We bought parking ahead of time, so we didn’t have to pay when we arrived. Pre-paying meant we were directed straight to our spot. Their parking system is really smooth.
There’s a baseball-themed play area near the stadium where kids can burn off some energy before the game.
Team Store
We went into the stadium and stopped by the team store. My son picked out a Brewers cap, and I got a magnet featuring the Brewers Sausage Race. In the middle of the 6th inning, the Brewers hold the Famous Racing Sausages race with Bratwurst, Polish Sausage, Italian Sausage, Hot Dog, and Chorizo. This fun event happens at every home game.
Exploring the Stadium
We ran into the team mascot and took a photo together.
There are lots of food and drink options, including The Alley, which is the stadium’s own Food Truck Park.
Watching the Game
Our seats faced the infield. If you go, look up at the terrace level in left-center field for Mascot Bernie Brewer, who slides down after every home run. This tradition started in 1973. Unfortunately, the Brewers didn’t score much, so he only slid once, and I missed it.
After the game, leaving was easy because their parking system worked so well.

NEXT MORNING: Milwaukee Public Market and Going North
After breakfast, we went downtown to grab some snacks before driving to Green Bay and then on to Door County.
We parked at the Milwaukee Public Market and explored the many food vendors and shops. There’s a lot to choose from inside. We spent most of our time at the cheese shop, picking up some classic Wisconsin cheese curds.

Driving Up to Green Bay
We drove north on Lincoln Memorial Drive, enjoying the scenic route to Green Bay. We passed the Milwaukee Art Museum, which has a unique building shaped like a sail. If we had more time, we would have checked out this iconic museum.
We also passed by some beaches as we continued north.
Then, we made a quick stop at Atwater Park to check out a unique sculpture. Finally, we got back on Interstate 43 and continued to Green Bay.
Lambeau Field
Lambeau Field is easy to find since it’s the biggest place in Green Bay. Across from the stadium, you’ll see the Packers Fence, which shows the city’s support for their team.
We went to the Lambeau Field Atrium, where there’s a big team store you could spend a lot of time in. If you want to learn about the team’s history and see the field up close, you can take a stadium tour and visit the Packers Hall of Fame and Museum. From the atrium, I could see a bit of the field, and there was plenty to explore. We didn’t have time for the tour, so we focused on shopping.
